International Event for SMEs’ ESG Excellence in Valencia, Spain
The International Event of the MESS4GE project took place on May 22, 2024, at the SGS offices in Valencia. This highly anticipated gathering brought together a diverse audience, with 22 participants attending in person and 8 more joining online, making it a hybrid event designed to ensure broad participation and engagement. The event provided a platform to present the project’s key tools, share expert knowledge, and explore the challenges and opportunities SMEs face in their journey toward enhanced ESG practices.
The event began with the presentation of the MESS4GE ESG Reporting Template, a comprehensive and innovative tool developed to streamline and enhance ESG reporting for SMEs. This template is tailored to meet the specific needs of small and medium enterprises, simplifying the reporting process while ensuring alignment with international standards. Participants were introduced to its structure and functionality, along with practical demonstrations on how it can be applied to support transparency and accountability in ESG reporting.
Following this, there was an introduction to the Training Platform for ESG Consultants and Managers, a key resource designed to equip professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively manage and report on ESG criteria. The platform is specifically tailored to the realities of SMEs, aiming to foster a culture of sustainability and accountability across organizations. The training program was outlined in detail, emphasizing its role in empowering ESG consultants and managers to navigate the complexities of ESG implementation and reporting effectively.
The final segment of the event featured an Experts’ Roundtable, which focused on the unique challenges SMEs encounter in ESG reporting. A panel of experts, including project managers and local professionals, engaged in a lively discussion that explored common obstacles, shared practical solutions, and celebrated the significant progress achieved through the MESS4GE project. The roundtable provided a valuable opportunity for participants to exchange ideas, reflect on their experiences, and gather actionable insights that will shape future initiatives and support mechanisms for SMEs.
